Privacy
What stays on your device
Your wallet (recovery phrase, keys and transaction records), your browsing history and your settings are stored on your computer. There is no Hodos account, and we do not keep a copy of your wallet.
What we collect
The browser does not send us analytics or usage data.
Services the browser contacts, and why
To work, the browser talks to these services. Each one sees your IP address when it is contacted, and its own privacy policy applies.
- BSV network services (GorillaPool, TAAL, WhatsOnChain, Bitails): to send your transactions and to check balances and proofs.
- MessageBox (messagebox.babbage.systems): to deliver and receive the encrypted notice that goes with a payment sent to an identity key.
- BSV overlay services: to look up identities.
- CoinGecko and MEXC: for the BSV price, so amounts and spending limits can be shown in US dollars.
- Your search engine (DuckDuckGo or Google, whichever you choose): for search suggestions as you type in the address bar.
- easylist.to and GitHub: to refresh the ad-blocking filter lists, every six hours.
- hodosbrowser.com and GitHub: to check for updates and download them.
- The websites you visit.
Sites you connect your wallet to
A site can use your wallet only after you approve it. When you approve a site, it can receive your wallet's identity public key if you leave that option ticked, and it can request payments within the spending limits you set.
